Mental performance coaching focuses on developing and maintaining strong psychological skills that directly enhance training and competition. It’s a collaborative, goal-driven, solution-focused process for strengthening your mindset— similar to how strength training improves your body. While it is not therapy and does not treat mental health conditions such as depression or OCD, I draw on my counseling education to apply evidence-based principles and approaches in my sessions with athletes.

I work with elite and competitive athletes ages 13 and older, in both individual and team settings. Every service I offer is designed to achieve the same goal — enhanced performance — and is fully tailored to meet the unique needs of each athlete or team.

Mental performance coaching helps athletes develop the mindset and skills needed to perform consistently at their best. Common challenges I see include building confidence, maintaining focus under pressure, bouncing back quickly from mistakes, managing performance anxiety, staying motivated, overcoming slumps or mental blocks, and many more. By strengthening these mental skills, athletes can not only perform better in competition but also approach training with more clarity, consistency, and resilience. Every service is tailored to the individual or team, ensuring we target the areas that will have the greatest impact on performance.

Individual sessions are conducted virtually. For team-based work, I offer in-person sessions and will travel to the team as needed to deliver an engaging and high-impact experience.
-
Individual sessions are 50 minutes long, and there is no set schedule. How often we meet depends entirely on the athlete’s needs, goals, and preferences. Between sessions, I often check in with athletes via text to provide support as they apply mental skills in training and competition. Meeting more than once per week is uncommon and typically unnecessary, as the focus is on developing skills athletes can practice and use independently.

Working with me is collaborative, goal-driven, and solution-focused. I create an environment where the athlete is at the center of our work, the expert of their life, and together we identify strategies that will have a real impact on performance. I’m laid back and easy to talk to, which helps me build long-lasting, meaningful relationships with my clients. My goal is to make each session productive, engaging, and genuinely valuable, so athletes leave feeling equipped and confident to apply what we’re worked on.

Yes, all sessions are confidential. The only exceptions are if there is a risk of harm to the athlete, others, or a vulnerable population — in those very rare cases, I am ethically obligated to act, and I would always discuss this with the athlete beforehand. Mental performance coaching works best when parents trust both their child and me to fully engage in the process. I strive to create a safe, open environment where athletes feel comfortable sharing and growing knowing that our sessions are confidential.
